So, yes. :)
School's out, finally! :0 And with that, a revelation!
Yes, over the past week I have been kicking some MAJOR ass on my horses. Not just stalling with other's lineart and shading and coloring... so whewt!
Notice how this compares to Burro, Kanya, etc.?
... Now I want to redraw them. ;-;
ANYWAYS.
Some pointers just for you, Lapiz, my little Furc friend. <3
- The musculature and bones underneath are good to keep in mind
- The cheek bone is very pronounced, even with a bad/shallow light source.
- The pupil is like a line itself. Don't try making it any rounder.
- The big muscle points are the flanks and 'shoulder' muscles.
- The tail is an extension of the spine - it is NOT just a fluff of hair at the rump.
- The hock and knee both seem to be the stopper of the top of the leg; Try basing the legs off mule or whitetail deer legs.
- Use real-life inspiration of models whenever you can.

... I think that's it. xD If anyone has any other tips for somene trying to draw horses, go ahead and say it. :3
NOTE: This is a made up breed of horse! It's not supposed to look like any specific breed!

Would have to say very nice and big big improvement from the last time I have seen your work, which has been a long time I think. Very nicely done, some proportions are off but hay, practice makes perfect and having access to live subjects for study helps greatly in that field, add some shading and I think it would be a work of art =D.........Nuzzles from Mambrino to his kitty blanket
